Things to Do

Constructed in 1840, Forsyth Park is the oldest public park in Savannah, and it is the grand centerpiece of the city. Inspiring parts of the park include the magnificent fountain modeled after French fountains and the fragrant garden full of azalea bushes and fresh flowers.

Speaking of Forsyth Park, you can shop at the Forsyth Farmer's Market if you visit on a Saturday. Each week, 35 vendors sell their fresh produce, pastured meats, local honey, artisan crafts and baked treats, and a wide selection of prepared foods. Not only does the farmer's market help out local farmers and artisans, but it also strives to assist marginalized communities by improving access to healthy, fresh food.

Savannah, GA, is home to several notable jazz legends whose work still influences music to this day. The Savannah Jazz Festival is an eight-day celebration of jazz in the city of Savannah. The festival was created to teach those interested in learning more about jazz music.

Savannah has dozens of city squares filled with famous landmarks and monuments from the Civil and Revolutionary Wars.

Downtown Savannah also has several museums to explore The Jepson Center, Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum, and Telfair Academy exhibits history, art, and architecture to educate residents about the city's legacy.
